Maple.

Chris Schwarz design. Finished with milk paint (Stone Blue by Real Milk Paint Co.). Completed July 2020.

My most used tools in the top (chisels, awl, compass, bevel gauge, marking gauges, combination square, router plane, spokeshaves, block plane, bench planes, marking knife). The middle level has specialty planes (plow plane, shoulder plane, rabbet plane, tongue-and-groove plane, my first wooden plane, cabinet scraper, card scrapers). The bottom has random stuff I like to keep handy (French curves, dowel plate, dovetail marker, coping saw, rasps). I hang my Japanese pull saws and chisel hammer on the wall.

I needed something that was fast and easy to build as I don’t like spending a lot of time on shop furniture. I’d prefer to keep the tools out in the open but I’ve ran into rust problems in the past.
